Just curious for us non beta users what’s the latest Connector version? I use the Safari one with Zotero 7.0.15 but the Safari Connector is on 5.0.148 which seems a bit behind 5.0.164 unless that version is only for Beta use?
How do I force Zotero connector for safari to manually update?
The Zotero Connector for Safari is bundled with the Zotero app, so you can't update it separately. Apple only allows Safari extensions to be distributed via apps.
@dstillman I see. I uninstalled Zotero and its Safari extension and then reinstalled but when I checked Safari settings --> extension it was still on .148
I checked on Edge and it's the latest version. There a file I should delete or something and then reinstall?
You're misunderstanding this. Zotero 7.0.15 came out in March, so it has the version of the Zotero Connector from then.
If you want the improvements described in the thread you posted to, you would need to install the Zotero Beta, which includes the newer Zotero Connector for Safari (though file saving in Safari still won't work as well on some sites as it does in other browsers).
