It would be really helpful to add an option to color code our articles and maybe underline or bold the lines of articles.

Right now, the articles have alternating colors (subdued grey tone). If we were able to change the color of any line, it will greatly improve workflows.

Example:
I want to quickly identify which articles I have already used in my bibliography, if I can change it to Orange or underline the entire text on the line, then it will help my review.

There are many other examples of how this can posisbly help. Now, I can only use Notes and it’s not easily identifyable.

Another example:

If I have 10 articles to read, I would be able to change the colors of articles that have been read to green understanding immediately what is left. There aren’t really any visual cues, we have to go to notes or create sub-folders.

  • Colored tags sound like what you're looking for.
  • And also emoji tags and the Actions & Tags plugin if you want more flexibility.
  • I don't see the colored tags option. Is it for PC or Mac? I looked through the links, but I don't see these options on the app or the web version...
  • Colored tags are available as described in the desktop app (that's generally what people refer to when they say Zotero, unless they specify otherwise); there are no differences in functionality in Zotero between different supported (Desktop) operating systems: this is the same on Mac, Linux, and Windows.

Colored tags are also available in the web app. You can assign them using the "Tag Manager" which is available in the three dot menu in the tag selector on the bottom left.
  • I understand it now. Thank you! This will help my workflow so much!
