Zotero use 3000 MB on Surface Pro when I use Advance Research and find nothings.

I use Zotero un Surface Pro 9 8gb RAM and when I use Advance Research it use all RAM and fine nothings. On other PC with 16gb RAM the Advance Search fine more results on same keywords...
There id a way for reducing RAM consumption?
  • What specific search conditions? "Attachment Content"? Presumably this doesn't happen if you just search by Title.
  • I'm looking for: Collection and Attachment Content. I select "include both parent and child elements" option.
On other PC with 16gb RAM, the search takes few seconds. On Surface, the search takes many minutes and finds no results or does not finish at all.

Do you have different local files on the two computers? E.g., do you have it set to download files "as needed" and not have some files locally?

Can you provide a Debug ID from the Surface for reproducing this?
  • no, I work mainly with Surface. The Debug ID is D454709443
  • no, I work mainly with Surface
Well, but do you have it set to download files "as needed" on your PC? If files don't exist locally, "Attachment Content" wouldn't search them, and if there's a bug with memory usage related to that, it wouldn't show up.
[JavaScript Error: "Could not allocate buffer: NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY"]
Have adjusted the indexing limits in the Advanced → Search pane of the Zotero settings? Do you have any very large documents?

Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins?

Can you reproduce it after restarting your computer with nothing else open?

How much RAM does Zotero use when it happens?

Does it use the same amount of RAM on your PC and it's just working there because you have more system memory, or do you think it's actually using more on your Surface?
  • Download file is at all syncronization.
I have set up maximum value for indexing. I think on Surface using more RAM than PC.

The new Debug ID is D380221037
  • You didn’t answer all of my questions.
  • Sorry.
File downloaded at all syncronization and I have all file on my Surface Pro.
I have set up maximum value for indexing and yes, I have some large document but most are small document (like article).
In Debug D380221037 I have reproduce in Troubleshooting Mode after restart Surface.
Zotero use 3000 MB circa only for Advance Search and it use more RAM than PC.
  • What do you mean by "I have set up maximum value for indexing"?

How large is the file in C:\Users\[username]\Zotero\storage\Q5FDU7LY?
  • In this image you have the values:
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u11632042/ur9bmx7lk3kbcmavvrt8.png

The file in Q5FDU7LY is large 342 KB.
