unwanted email notification of threads I'm not following

Hi Dan, I've been getting a lot of emails, about threads that I've not started, not bookmarked, don't know about. Not all threads, it seems to be a bit random.
Here's one example

Any reason for this, and any way to stop it, so that I only receive emails about bookmarked threads?
