Struggling to edit Vancouver style
Greetings,
I had a manuscript fail the technical check because the journal wants a different format than what was provided in the guidelines. I am trying to edit Vancouver to produce a similar style that has
1. (1) format for in-text citations
2. After 6 authors, use "et al." after 3
3. Italicize journal names
4. Use pull page numbers (i.e., 235-240)
I tried to have Zotero identify a style. PNAS was the closest, but Vancouver seems closer. However, despite my best efforts to create another style, have ChatGPT create a style to upload, I am not able to get new styles to load into the editor. I am trying to edit the style online, and managed to change in-text citation format how many authors are listed but cannot figure out how to italicize journal names or change the page number format.
I uninstalled the old Zotero version I was running and downloaded the most up-to-date version on (04-09-25).
Yes, I followed the instructions online. Yes, I followed the instructions here: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step.
I've spent hours on this and need to turn this around today, along with numerous other jobs.
Thank you!

(ChatGPT won't help here. way too complex)
For example, they want 3 authors, et al. for authors >6; however, their guidelines include this:
Manchikanti L, Kosanovic R, Pampati V, Cash
KA, Soin A, Kaye AD, Hirsch JA. Low back pain
and diagnostic lumbar facet joint nerve blocks:
assessment of prevalence, false-positive rates,
and a philosophical paradigm shift from an
acute to a chronic pain model. Pain Physician
2020; 23:519-530.
I've created a costum style for the journal:
