Is flatpack from flathub unofficial? If so why reversed domain is org.zotero?

Zotero, installed from flathub, appears as `org.zotero.Zotero` where the reversed domain prefix org.zotero gives a sense of official upstream status to this package. In fact, general wisdom from flathub is that when packaging an application as flatpak the reversed domain is a domain that the packager controls.

However, installation instructions on the zotero website, seem to suggest that there is no official flatpak at all. So do comments on several discussion items (e.g., "Sorry, we can only help with the official tarball and zotero-deb.")

So, what is the actual status, should the flathub package be explicitly made less confusing wrt its source?

The status is documented at https://www.zotero.org/support/installation#how_do_i_install_zotero

Packages other than the official tarball or deb are not supported by the Zotero team, their respective creators are responsible for them.

Yes, they shouldn't have used that identifier. I'm sure they would hand it over if we asked to maintain it, but we don't have plans to do so, and I don't think they could change it now without breaking existing installs (or at least walking people through a manual reinstallation). We've asked them at various times to clarify the unofficial status, which is why it says this on the listing page:
NOTE: This wrapper is not verified by, affiliated with, or supported by the Zotero project. Please confirm that problems are reproducible using the official tarball before reporting in the Zotero Forums.
I don't know how prominently that shows up vs. the identifier when you go to install the package on various distros, though.
