iOS Debug Log: D562544801

Underlining and highlights made on my laptop show up on the web version of Zotero but not the app on my iPad.

See Changes Not Syncing for what we need.
  • New Debug ID: D1627682571
    URL: https://www.zotero.org/arianavg/collections/YWK38V2F/items/CBAWDQJT/attachment/CUAXJ5XS/reader

For this edit/log/debug purposes, I started logging before adding the purple underline to the first sentence. Edit happened on Zotero desktop app for windows and shows up online, but it doesn't appear in same file on iPad app.

Went through all the fixes, nothing works.

    Please help.

    Thank you.

That's a Debug ID from the desktop app. It's helpful to include that, but since the change is syncing fine to the online library, we need a Debug ID for the first sync from the iOS app after making the change, since that's the problematic sync. Start logging on iOS, make the change on the desktop, confirm that it appears online, and then pull down on the items list on iOS to make sure it has synced (and confirm that the change hasn't actually appeared).
  • Ah, gotcha now. Thx for the clear instructions.

Here’s the new debug ID from my iPad. It shows the errors. Removed and added the two purple underlines. Desktop and online synced but iPad = no bueno.

Oh, you're referring to an HTML snapshot. That's just not supported yet in the mobile apps — snapshots are just displayed in a webview and don't even open in the actual reader. EPUB/snapshot annotation support on iOS is coming soon. (It's a new feature in the desktop app.)
  • Aha! Had a feeling it was pebcak. Ha. Now I understand.

So if I print the article/save to PDF and use in the reader, *then* I can annotate across devices, yeah?

    Makes sense.

Thank you so much for the guidance.
