[Solved] Copying directly from Library to clipboard

edited 9 days ago
*EDIT:* This feature already exists, I had simply missed the correct shortcut.

Hi,

I would like to request / discuss a feature that I've been missing, and that I believe could be a useful addition.

Current behaviour:
When I select an item in the library and copy it (using the Cmd+C), nothing is added to my clipboard.

Expected behaviour:
The full bibliography for the selected item(s) is added to my clipboard, much like when I drag-and-drop an item from Zotero onto e.g. a word document.

Possible feature extensions and inconsistencies:
- One might want to be able to customise what the default bibliography style is in the Preferences. I'm not sure how this is done with the drag-and-drop bibliography format? One alternative would be to use the most recently selected format used in the "Create bibliography" dialogue.
- One could argue that the in-text citation should be what is copied, but aligning with the current behaviour of the drag-and-drop feature seems consistent to me.

System info:
macOS 15.3.2
Zotero 7.0.11

PS: I have fair experience with web development and web technologies, but no knowledge of the Zotero codebase and am unsure if existing internal API:s / wiring exists to support this. If someone wants to point me towards how to implement this, I would be happy to take a stab at it. Assume this could also be achieved done in a separate plugin, if it should not be in the core product?
