help: Doesn't the annotation darken when a link is clicked

"Hi!!! I hope I explain myself well, I tried to upload mp4 or gif files but it doesn't allow me to.

The highlighting of the annotation when clicking on a link only works when you create a note from annotations.

But if I modify the note by adding or removing text, the annotation highlighting is no longer displayed. Additionally, the floating box also changes its formatting.

The lack of highlighting also occurs when you simply add a note and then add an annotation to the note from the menu.

Interestingly, the lack of highlighting does not occur when the annotation is of the underline type."

I suppose the annotation highlighting should work with any link. I'd also like to add that the lack of annotation highlighting also happens with Obsidian. I often add links from annotations to Obsidian, and when I click on the links, it does take me to the annotation's position, but it doesn't highlight either.

  • I don’t see quotation marks around the inserted highlights. They’re essential. Do you have a custom note template for highlights?

    Thanks for the reply.
    In advanced options modify:
    extensions.zotero.annotations.noteTemplates.highlight:
{{citation}} {{highlight quotes='false'}}

    Even so, in the annotation without quotes, clicking on the quote and then clicking Go to Page should display the darkened annotation. I understand that Go to Page only sends you to the annotation's position, but I suppose it should also display the darkened annotation.

    I know this is a bit of a stretch, but I usually work with Obsidian. When I copy an annotation to Obsidian with (Ctrl+C), clicking on the link to the annotation does indeed send me to the annotation's position, but it doesn't darken it. In Zotero 6 and some versions of Zotero 7 beta, the annotations would go dark.

    sorry for the delay in responding
