iOS app feature request: navigating back to previous location in PDF after clicking on a annotation

On the iPad app, when you click on a link in a PDF that takes you to another page, a “Back” button appears in the lower left corner, allowing you to return to the original page. It would be very convenient if, after clicking on an annotation in the side panel and viewing the corresponding page, you could navigate back to your previous location in the PDF (as on macOS).
  • Hey @prolietary, we have added this feature in the latest beta, but it will also be part of an upcoming release.
If you want to test the beta version, please see details here https://www.zotero.org/support/beta_builds#zotero_for_ios_beta
  • Hi @mvasilak! Thank you, I joined beta testing and the feature's working great!

While testing the feature I've found a small bug. It is very minor and can rarely be triggered by accident, so I probably shouldn't open a new thread.

Suppose the PDF has only one annotation (highlight). You open up a sidebar on the left and click on it and you see the page with the highlight. At the same time the annotation is in selected mode in the sidebar. If you now swipe to another page (I do it in jump mode), the annotation in the sidebar remains selected. If you will now attempt to unselect it by tapping somewhere on the document or if you attempt to navigate to annotation by selecting it again, it's not gonna work. The selection of the annotation seems to be frozen and can't be retriggered or canceled.

Like I said, the bug's there when there's only single annotation in the whole document so I don't consider it a major obstacle in using the app.
  • @mvasilak, it also aeems more natural for navigation buttons 'back' and 'forward' to disappear in full screen mode. Right now they stay active indefinitely.
