I have an old iPad (iPad Pro 12.9 (2017) 2nd generation) which I'm planning to use for reading papers in Zotero.
When reading papers, I usually only scroll the pages (naturally) and highlight text. Occasionally I add comments in a paper or add tags, but I think the main organisational stuff will be done on the Windows PC, not on the iPad, which will be just for reading.
I was wondering whether the pencil would be of use here? For example splitting the functions that scrolling and zooming is done with fingers (without creating accidential highlighting) and highlighting is done automatically with the pencil (without having to press a button first).

dstillmanThe main thing is that highlighting would generally be much faster and more precise with an Apple Pencil.
