Reference formatting being lost after a manuscript was reviewed in iEnvision

We have recently had two manuscripts lose their Zotero field codes after being reviewed in iEnvision. Has anyone else experienced this and are there any workarounds?
  • Has this worked before? I'd expect field codes to be lost on any platform outside MS Word
  • Thanks for your reply. The manuscripts are still in Word format but sit on a platform called iEnvision, which allows multiple users to access and review the shared Word document, a bit like SharePoint. As track changes need to be turned on, as we need to monitor all changes, I am wondering if these may interfere with Zotero, especially if multiple users may be reviewing a manuscript at any one time. We have only recently encountered this issue and are trying to ascertain why the Zotero field codes were lost with these two manuscripts and not before.
  • There's just not much we can say on this other than that editing a document in a tool outside of Word is very likely to break things. Beyond that you'd have to ask iEnvision if they properly maintain Word field codes — that's all Zotero citations are.
