"An error has occurred while updating your document."
Since this morning I have the problem that I can no longer insert references. Every time I get this error message and am then redirected to a website where there are supposed to be instructions on how to fix it. But that hasn't helped so far.
Both Word and Zotero are up to date and I am using the latest MacOS. I have already tried restarting and have also made a local copy of the file. Then it only works for the first 5 minutes and then the problem starts again. Instead of the reference, the document then contains {Citation} and this is not recognized as a Zotero reference because I cannot edit it. It's really frustrating because I'm currently working on my Master's thesis.

adomasvenProvide a Debug ID for an attempt to insert a citation that fails. What is the version of macOS and Word that you are running?

eburunsuzI am using Word Version 16.95.1 and MacOS 15.3.2. Unfortunately I don't know how to provide a debug ID. It's really strange because sometime it does work on the first try.. and sometime I have to retry 3 to 4 times..

adomasvenSorry, I didn't attach the link for Debug ID. Generally, if it works intermittently for the same doc, we may be unable to help. Some users/system configurations seem to suffer from this sort of thing. If it's a very long document, splitting it into smaller chapter documents might help, and then you can merge it back. Also, if it takes a while to insert citations into your document, you should not be editing it while Zotero is inserting them, or that might cause failures.
