PDF text renders incorrectly

I am not sure if this is an issue with the pdf or Zotero. I downloaded a thesis here:

When I open the pdf in the Zotero pdf viewer it does not render correctly. For example, here is the contents page:

If I open the pdf in nitro or Acrobat Reader it looks fine.

Any ideas?

Works for me in 7.0.15 and 7.1-beta.21+4915f1fad, either by dragging the file (from the second link) into Zotero or by saving through the connector from the first link. Maybe some fonts are missing in your system?

I think the pdf fonts are all embedded, so I would be surprised if that is the problem. All of the text in the pdf renders like this (so all the different fonts, including ones I know I have on my system such as Arial).
For reference this is on Zotero 6.0.36.

It works also in Zotero 6.0.35 (last available version for Linux):

Well, upgrading to Zotero 7.0.15 fixes the issue for me. Was this a known bug?
