(Debug log: D380398074) Retrieving metadata from PDF froze after a couple of requests
Hi,
Starting from today, when I imported several hundreds of PDFs into Zotero, the metadata retrieving froze after a couple of requests. Restarting Zotero doesn't help.
[Debug log: D380398074]
Part of the log is shown below:
(1)(+0000005): Error: HTTP GET https://doi.org/10.3982/ECTA11380 failed with status code 500: {"status":"error","message-type":"exception","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"name":"class org.elasticsearch.client.ResponseException","description":"org.elasticsearch.client.ResponseException: GET https:\/\/vpc-api-public-production-jxmtwtz4ecfgyjaziuskyakdnq.us-east-1.es.amazonaws.com:443\/work\/work\/10.3982%2Fecta11380: HTTP\/1.1 503 Service Unavailable\n{\"error\":{\"root_cause\":[{\"type\":\"no_shard_available_action_exception\",\"reason\":\"No shard available for [get [work][work][10.3982\/ecta11380]: routing [null]]\"}],\"type\":\"no_shard_available_action_exception\",\"reason\":\"No shard available for [get [work][work][10.3982\/ecta11380]: routing [null]]\"},\"status\":503}","message":"GET https:\/\/vpc-api-public-production-jxmtwtz4ecfgyjaziuskyakdnq.us-east-1.es.amazonaws.com:443\/work\/work\/10.3982%2Fecta11380: HTTP\/1.1 503 Service Unavailable\n{\"error\":{\"root_cause\":[{\"type\":\"no_shard_available_action_exception\",\"reason\":\"No shard available for [get [work][work][10.3982\/ecta11380]: routing [null]]\"}],\"type\":\"no_shard_available_action_exception\",\"reason\":\"No shard available for [get [work][work][10.3982\/ecta11380]: routing [null]]\"},\"status\":503}","stack":

I checked Crossref's and DOI.org's status pages. Both seem to be operational:
https://status.crossref.org/
https://doi.statuspage.io/
I wonder where to find the most updated status/discussions of the metadata resolver and if there is any workaround.
Another strange thing is that every time I restart Zotero, the first metadata retrieval always succeeds. It gets stuck from the 2nd on.
This is a DOI that returns data:
https://api.crossref.org/v1/works/10.1145/1111320.1111059
This is your DOI, which returns an Elasticsearch error:
https://api.crossref.org/v1/works/10.3982/ECTA11380
Is there a way in Zotero to skip those failed ones and continue with others when retrieving metadata?
