Help with University of Aberdeen British Harvard

Hi!
Is there a reason why, even though I have entered pages into the manual addition field, the bibliography entry does not show the page numbers? I am trying make an entry for a book chapter. Also, it does not show In: or author names of the book itself. The style guide itself is below:

https://www.abdn.ac.uk/library/support/guides/education--music/referencing-for-education-students/#panel68870
  • That style might just not be programmed well and needs some work.
  • Thank you! How do I go about working on that?
  • Sorry - I forgot to add that I also need to find a way to add the book authors in addition to the chapter authors and the page numbers

This style will output a chapter correctly if you entered the metadata correctly.
    Eg.:

MARES, I., (2001). Firms and the welfare state: When, why, and how does social policy matter to employers? In: P.A. Hall and D. Soskice, eds., Varieties of capitalism. The institutional foundations of comparative advantage. New York: Oxford University Press. pp.184–213.
  • Might be a book author vs. editor distinction? (Though book authors are, of course, fairly rare)
  • @adamsmith oh yes good point - editor! d'oh!
@damnation...i have been using the provided doi ...do you think it is the doi that is wrong? fwiw, not just one item is coming out wrong.

do you mean it has been fixed...idk much about github and here..did someone fix it already?
  • thank you - forgot my manners!
  • Could you post the DOI? It's very much possible book metadata for DOIs isn't right, but we could also be importing incorrectly
  • Yeah, the metadata that Sage deposited is just bad, you have to manually fix it to change the book author to editor and add the chapter author(s) at a minimum.

If you import directly from the item page (i.e. where the DOI link redirects you) you get a slightly better citation, but that one is missing the editor entirely. Unfortunately not much to do about this from the Zotero end, I'm afraid.
