macOS user here. Works fine yesterday until the Sequoia 15.3.2 update. Now, the bar appears but nothing shows up when I write something. Nothing happened too when I click on the cross to cancel.
Can you disable all plugins and provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing the problem, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
Actually, I just click on “add citation” button in MS Word, the bar shows up but when I write something nothing happened and I can't cancel the operation by clicking the cross button.
Weirdly, citation bar works in a new MS Word document...
I don't understand why it can't work on my PhD dissertation document and I'm quite worried now as I need Zotero to work with this specific document... It was working just fine yesterday...
I mean, just to be clear, you probably shouldn't be using beta software for your dissertation. We're happy to debug problems with you, but if you don't have time for that, you should switch back to the release version from the download page.
With a large document, the first time showing the citation dialog after restarting Zotero has always been slower, particularly on macOS — that would be the case with the previous version of the citation dialog as well. But there may be a difference in how that delay is handled in the new citation dialog. It should let you type and search your library while it's processing. We'll look into whether that's not happening properly.
In any case, assuming you have "Automatically update citations" disabled in the plugin's Document Preferences, subsequent openings of the dialog should be faster.
But unless you want to help us troubleshoot this, you should probably just to switch to the release version for now.
Thank you for your help. It seems working but I don't enabling back plug-in just in case.
I know that I should go back to release version but I'm afraid to have some bugs too.
Sorry if my last messages were badly formulated. It wasn't impatience at all, but simple concern. Zotero is an exceptional piece of software and I try to contribute through beta testing.
We've confirmed that there is a regression in the new dialog where it waits for the processing to complete before allowing any input. That's not correct, and we'll fix it for the next beta in a few days. Thanks for reporting.

Can you reproduce this after restarting Zotero?
The issue is still there after restarting Zotero, MS Word, and even Macbook.
I've tried and it's not working.
