Beta - new insertion bar problem with citations but not notes

I installed the beta on Mac OS15.3.1 and now inserting notes works beautifully (love the library view!) but the citation insertion only has a search field which never yields any results, no matter what I type - I end up having to quit Zotero because there is no way of getting rid of the unresponsive insertion bar.
Here's some debug ID D992765577 (attempting to insert a citation up to trying to close the unresponsive bar) if that helps. Let me know if a screencast would help - or anything else I can submit.

  • Thank you for the report. When the citation dialog appears, does the cursor appear in the bar for you, so you can type immediately? Or did you have to click inside of the dialog to begin typing?
  • I have to click to begin typing.
Forgot to say I reinstalled the word plugin (including removing zotero.dotm manually and reinstalling) as part of my attempts to get it working.
  • And same problem in trouble-shooting mode.
  • Thank you. I think I know what's going on.

Last question: what happens if you do not click into the dialog and just give it time to load? Will the cursor eventually appear in it by itself? It should not take long but might be a few seconds if the library is big.
  • @FHeimburger: Can you try the latest beta?
  • I've just tried with 7.1-beta.21+4915f1fad , but no luck - still the same. And I tried leaving it for quite a while without clicking - the cursor didn't appear.
    Here's the new debug D1490186327
  • I've just tried the newest beta and there is slight progress - I can now close the citation window by clicking on the cross at the right, but apart from that unchanged: the cursor does not appear unless I click and when I enter a search term I don't get any results.
    Debug here D1732898297
  • OK, please try the latest beta.
  • Yay, it works! Thanks for finding whatever the problem was! Now off to write something using the shiny new library view...
