Zotero 7.0.13 collapse library folders in library pane

I think older versions of Zotero would allow all folders to be closed in the Library Pane at left, but on a Windows machine I can't find an easy way to do it in Zotero 7. Please let me know if I'm missing something.

To me, it would help if the Zotero UI had right click options for this up above where My Library appears.

The current default function of Zotero 7 seems to be to keep all folders and subfolders open all the time, and this causes a lot of wasted time. Or perhaps there is something I'm doing to cause it to behave this way...I end up losing track of where I am as a result. Thank you.
  • I don't believe this has changed. You can collapse a library by clicking the small triangle to it's left or using the - key on your keyboard, and you can expand all collections using the + key.

Is there a way to collapse/expand a subcollection rather than the entire library ?
  • Use left/right arrows on your keyboard.
  • I missed this forever. And now it seems so obvious.
    Thank you so much.

I've come to the forum to place a feature request: collapsing the entire collection /folder structure is very important, especially since the fantastic option to search for folders has been introduced. I use it a lot, but i leads to a huge, open directory tree.

So finding this thread here and learning out about the minus-button is a big relief for me.

Still: the natural way for me to find a "collapse all" function was by right-clicking a folder. I wish Zotero would impement this function there, I am sure many other users have been looking for this option too.
  • I'd agree, the natural place where I expect to find a collapse/expand is in the right-click context menu of either the collection or the library I want to expand/collapse.
