APA 7 citation of standard / short form

Hi all,

I want to cite a DIN EN ISO standard.
According to APA7, the first reference should be (Deutsches Institut für Normung [DIN], 2021).
Any further reference should be (DIN, 2021).

How can I get zotero to do that and still maintain "Deutsches Institut für Normung [DIN] (2021)" in the bibliography?

I personally recommend entering the author as DIN and putting the full institution name as the Publisher. While not strictly following APA, this format is used commonly, even in APA-published journals. I have published many papers in APA journals using this approach.

If you really want to follow APA style to the letter, either
1) Enter the author as DIN, suppress author on the first instance and type the full format as a prefix, and manually edit the bibliography at the end of writing.
2) Enter the author as Deutsches Institut für Normung [DIN], then suppress author and manually type DIN on all the subsequent citations.

Thank you for your answer.

I think I will go with with 1) and edit the bibliography after I am finished with everything. That seems to be less of a hassle and the university prof will stay happy.
