Zotero PDF viewer equation preview not working

Everytime I open a PDF the feature that let's me preview an equation by hovering over the number, i.e. "(8)", works at the beginning, but shortly after that it stops working. My cursor also just stays in the "text editing" mode, so it is just the skinny line.

I have tried disabling autosync and checking MathJax configs, but so far nothing is working. Every single time when I open a new PDF, it works for a bit.

I am running Zotero 7.0.11 on MacOS.

    Does it still happen in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins?

    Can you link to a document where you can reproduce this, and provide the exact steps?

    I realised that the problem was the PDF I was viewing. For some reason there was a huge chunk of text, where the viewing wasn't working and I thought I had also checked a section, where it worked before, but apparently not.

    Although now that I think about it the viewer did work in that section also for a couple of seconds every time I opened the PDF, but then always stopped working, so maybe there is something wrong after all.

    I am afraid I can not link the pdf that is producing this behaviour, since it is private. Is there something else I can do?

    You can send it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread if you’re able to share it privately, but we can’t investigate without an example.
