Notes are always copied as well

Although I have switched off in the settings that notes and annotations are also copied, the annotations from the old collection always appear in the new one.

    If you already copied the items to another library, you have to delete them in the target library and then drag again with the new settings. Otherwise it will just keep the versions you already copied with all of their child items.

    Hi, thank you very much. But I don't quite understand it. I transfer a file to a Zotero folder and mark text passages. Then I want to mark something in the same file, but on a different topic, and drag the file into another folder. The marked passages are copied with it. I want to avoid this, but how?

    Are you asking about collections or groups? The settings you referred to in your first post are about dragging between groups, and that's what I answered. If you're just talking about collections within the same library, it's just because they're the same items.
