Upgrade StorageOpenOffice Lost Zotero connection

I have been using zotero 2.0 without a hitch with openoffice 3. Yesterday when I went to add more references to my document I noticed that none of the previous references were grey and once i added a new one it was as if zotero was functioning for the first time in the document. I have tried closing the document and firefox multiple times, reinstalling all the add-ons to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!
Here's hoping its a quick fix.
