Large Word Document-14 Chapters
Greetings folks,
I have read some of the post regarding the bibliography in a document with multiple chapters.. I'm somewhat confused by the various approaches.. Let's see if I got this right.
1. create 14 copies of the main document.
2. in each document delete the chapters that don't belong in that document. i.e., in chapter two, delete all chapters except 2 and so on..
3. Refresh zotero for each individual chapter, so that the references all start with 1 up to however many references there are per chapter. The citations and the bibliography will both match the numbers
4. Combine all chapters back into one whole word document. Copy and paste the references from each chapter at the end of the document.
Ok, Questions: 1. what am I missing? At what point do I unlink citations?
2. If I refresh each individual chapter, will that affect the main document? Or does Zotero only deals with each chapter on its own without affecting other documents with the same citations?
3. Somewhere I read about using the outline view, but that seemed confusing. Is that a better approach to breaking up the document into individual chapters?
4. I read something about not saving the individual chapters? Just close them after copy and paste? Is that right and if so, why?
I'm sure I'll have more questions and I do appreciate your patience.
I thank you in advance..

OptimalDigestionWell, an update.. Breaking down the book into individual chapters did not work.. Zotero would not build a bibliography and gave me an error... What did work was copy and paste into a new document.. So while in the new document I unlinked the citations after it made a bibliography.. Copied and pasted it into a a larger document. Did not save the document and kept going.. Wish there was an easier way.. But it is what it is..
