Sync issues iOS macOS; missing unfiled items?
I'm on the latest betas and am having some sync issues between iOS and macOS: the total numbers of items do not match. On one of the iOS devices, there are about 60 items missing, in the other about 5. The number of items in the web library matches the one in the client, so the issue might be on the iOS side? What is the best way to resolve this? Also, I noticed that the category "unfiled items" is missing in the macos client, but only in the library, not in the group library. Is this by design?

burgarthOk, I found the documentation about unfiled items, so that's unrelated. Here's a debug ID from iOS D656193615 and D1411311684 from another iOS device.

burgarthThanks a lot for the link. New items sync fine, but there are some old items that are not syncing. For instance, a PDF which on the web/macOS client has a mother item, but on the ipad it has a seperate item (without PDF) and a naked PDF. When I annotate the PDF on either device, the annotations sync fine...

dstillmanYes, but we'd still need the info requested there to have any chance of reconstructing what happened.

burgarthOk, no problem. D65594008 is adding a note on a PDF which on iOS is just called 2411.06047, but on the desktop it has a parent item.
-
burgarthThe note syncs, but the parent item remains seperate on the mobile.
-
dstillmanSo the parent item exists on mobile but it's just a separate item?
-
dstillmanAnd is that true on both iOS devices?
-
burgarthYes, it's a separate item, but annotating it syncs to all devices. On the other iOS device this particular item is not separate but with its parent. This is however just one example of discrepancies, on one iOS device the number of entries is differing by 60 from the web library, on another 5, and on a third it differed by 1 (I fixed this one manually, apparently again an issue of not being with parent item). I was thinking if I should just resync the whole library on iOS but that would not fix the cause of the issue. Does the client notice if there is a mismatch in the total number of items?

michalrentkaDo you have the Zotero app on all of your devices updated to the same (ideally latest) version of Zotero?

burgarthYes, I'm on the testflight version
