  • We haven't reproduced this ourselves and are still trying to figure out why some people are seeing it, but it's harmless.
  • I am getting this as well. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it but figured I would add some details about my experience in case it helps you identify why it is occuring.
I am working with a large document, so I've turned off automatic updates. When adding a new citation, the message appears for only a millisecond after I add. When refreshing the document, the message will appear for much longer as Zotero goes over my document.
Glad to hear you're looking into this, no idea if this info helps but best of luck figuring it out!
  • Add me to the list of people who saw this message. For me it appeared after I answered the dialog about (manually) modified citations though I asked Zotero to undo the modifications and keep the fields updated.

Annoyingly, it came up many times while working with the document thereafter and the document appeared to be quite slow as well.

I did two thinks in trying to fix it. One was to accept all tracked changes that involved Zotero fields. The second was restarting word. One of those things seem to have worked for now, though I am uncertain which.
