Need for new Item Type: "collective publication"

It would be very helpful to have a new Item Type "collective publication" to which you could directly add a "Book section" (could also be a new item type like "contribution"). the collective publication has only editors, while the contributions are written by authors and the citation is a specific mix between these.
I am aware that I can work around this problem by linking the books or by using tags but it would be very helpful to have seperate item types for this case, because this occurs a lot and it would offer mor structure in the library.

    Hierarchical item relationships -- i.e. the ability to group chapters with an edited volume -- have long been requested and devs are certainly aware of the demand, though I don't think it's going to happen any time soon given the technical constraints. A new item type for edited volumes, on the other hand, seems entirely unnecessary: a book is a book regardless of whether it's an edited volume or a monograph. As far as I know, none of the databases or metadata formats Zotero relies on make that distinction -- for good reason.

    Thank you for the response, I was searching the forum for this update ☺️

    I am currently going through the forum and Google to try and find the best plugins to help manage hierarchical item relationships. Are there any plugins compatible with Zotero 7 that you would recommend?

    For now, I'd just welcome a simple way to establish relationships, set them in bulk etc (my library currently has 2,000+ items).
