Add by URL missing in iOS and iPadOS apps, why?
When I select “Add By Identifier” in a collection at zotero.org, I am presented with the options of adding an item by URL, ISBN, DOI, PMID or arXiv identifier.
When I do the same in the iOS or iPadOS app, the first option is missing.
This is a bit bizarre because mobile devices are often used to browse web pages and one would expect “Add By URL” to be available on these devices…

adamsmithBecause just like in the Desktop version (which also doesn't have save from URL), saving directly from the browser (via share to Zotero) works much better

nbpfIn the desktop version saving from a browser via Zotero Connector creates a snapshot of the webpage in question, under iOS sharing to Zotero does not create a snapshot. Adding by URL on zotero.org also does not create a snapshot, I believe. I find all this a bit confusing, perhaps some guidelines on best practices would help.

dstillmanSnapshot saving just isn't something that's available in the iOS app at this time, and it's unlikely to ever be available from the web version for technical reasons. The desktop app will always have vastly more functionality than any other version.

nbpfI see, thanks for the clarifications!
