Couldn't find collection due to lack of undo

  • I really don't understand how in 2024 a program with this many users can lack the undo function.

Yesterday I moved by accident one of my collections into the wrong place, and it disappeared. I couldn't undo it or find it. I almost started crying because I'm working on a systematic review, and I just finished filtering titles of more than 700 papers in that collection.

I luckily managed to get it back through entering Zotero through the browser, and my change wasn't synced there, so I managed to fix it.

I'm now looking for another reference manager.
  • It's not a full substitute for undo, but just to be clear, Zotero 7 includes a collection search and lets you restore collections from the trash, so there's no real way to accidentally lose a collection in Zotero 7.

(Also, there's undo when typing in notes, which is the most important place it's needed.)
