chicago style author's first name/last name in book chapter and Zotero

hello, I've just discovered that Chicago style inverts first name and last name for authors of book chapters (https://libguides.ucd.ie/chicagostyle/chicagochaptereditedbook), and does all sorts of different things compared to the regular entry of an author and their book.

Sheringham, Michael. “Archiving.” In Restless Cities, edited by Matthew Beaumont and Gregory Dart, 10-24. London: Verso, 2010.

Yet, Zotero seems to treat the author of the book chapter in the same exact way of authors of a whole book. As per the following example.

Laura Marks, “Collapse Informatics and the Environmental Impact of Information and Communication Technologies,” in The Routledge Handbook of Ecomedia Studies, ed. Antonio Lopez et al. (London: Routledge, 2023), 119–28.

in Zotero, Laura Marks is listed as author and Lopez and others as editors. Yet this format doesn't seem to comply with Chicago Style 17th Edition.

what am i missing?

thx a lot for your help!

  • You're looking in the wrong place. The Sheringham from the page you link to is a bibliography item. The Marks is a footnote. If you compare that to the footnote example on the UCD page you link to, it exactly corresponds:
Michael Sheringham, “Archiving,” in Restless Cities, ed. Matthew Beaumont and Gregory Dart (London: Verson, 2010), 9.
  • thx a lot Adam - always on spot!
