Moving from lab to institutional

I am spearheading my organization adopting Zotero as its reference manager. We are going to go with a paid subscription and I am trying to decide whether Lab or institution is right for us in terms of the cost (we don't have enough people to make institutional worth it right away) and the implied cost of having to manage subs on the Lab level. Is it easy to move from Lab to Institutional if we decide to start with one then migrate to the other after some time making sure this is the right tool for us?

    All Zotero users should register their own Zotero accounts, and they can keep those accounts or bring existing ones, so that switching subscriptions is generally easy.

    If all your users register with or add their institutional email address with their Zotero account, the transition would be seamless. If they already have an account they can add their institutional email as a backup from their email settings.

    Just email us at storage@zotero.org if you want to renew for an Institution subscription instead of a Lab.
