webdav / zotero

Does zotero-file-sync use another location as zotero?
At work, I use zotero and it works great. Also my previous file-sync-solution worked.
Now, I changed to zotero file-sync and it doesn't get a connection any more.

Maybe the firewall doesn't allow me to access the zotero file-sync direction.
Maybe there is another problem. How can I find out the file-sync-location?

Thanks,
twk
  • What's the exact problem you're having? Are you getting an error message?
  • Hi,
    It just does not synchronize.
It says it is but nothing happDens - since I Changed to Zotero-Data-Sync.
Do I have to change something I don't know?

  • Sorry, but you'll need to be a lot more specific.

  • I just want to know the location zotero connects for zotero-file-sync.
I have to unlock it in a firewall I have to deal with.
Probably that's the problem because at home it works perfectly.

    Thanks,

  • https://sync.zotero.org and https://api.zotero.org

But it'd have to be a rather restrictive firewall, since those are just regular HTTPS hosts.
  • It is very restrictive - I guess at the moment, I have only http-ports for zotero.org.

Thank you very much for this Information.
I will check this and can now find a solution.

    Have a nice weekend,

  • Hi there,

We are implementing a version of KnowledgeTree document management system for our institution which offers up limited WebDav functionality.

What I am wondering is if there is anything specific about the implementation of Webdav by Zotero that I can pass on to the KnowledgeTree developers, is it a generic implementation of the protocol, does it use the native OS implementation of WebDav?

Most of our users will be MS and OSX based, it is really just us developers who are GNOME based.

    Thanks
