Rich text formatting not working with special characters

edited November 22, 2024
If I try to add transliterations of Hebrew in italics with special characters at the beginning of the word, the rich formatting does not work.
For example, ’elep renders exactly as typed unless I remove the ’ from the beginning of the word.

  • As a workaround, you could just type everything up to Gloliath." in the Footnote and jsut insert the citation proper with the parentheses as prefix/suffix, right?
  • That's interesting. May relate to the fix for this bug in the citation processor that Zotero uses.

You can work around it by using \' instead of : \'elep instead of ’elep. Produces the exact same quote character in the output, but without breaking the italics.
  • Bizarrely, that workaround is no longer working for me, so your mileage may vary.
  • That will work, Adam. Thanks
