Zotero and Google docs not syncing

I installed the zotero connector but did not select the option to allow Zotero access. I realize this was a mistake but don't know how to change it retroactively. I am able to see my Zotero library through the Zotero link in google docs but when I click 'add citation' nothing happens.

    What browser are you using? You need to allow Zotero Connector to run on all sites, or at least on Google docs page. You can change this setting in the browser extension preferences.

    Google chrome is the browser, sorry for not mentioning that initially. The Zotero icon appears in google docs and the library is launched when clicking the icon, but the process of adding a footnote doesn't happen. The window that should open where you search for the citation to add does not appear. Thanks so much for helping/thinking through this with me!

    Right click on the Zotero Connector extension icon in Chrome and make sure that the option "This can read and change site data" is set to "On all sites", then refresh Google Docs. You should see a Zotero menu option appear in Google Docs.
