Problem with Citation style
chainsawman

I am using the IEEE citation style. My citations are displayed like this: [1],[2],[3]. However, they need to appear like this: [1-3]. Why is this not working?

You have asked about IEEE but according to your
comment on the other thread
, you are using the
DIN 1505-2 (numeric, Deutsch) - standard superseded by ISO-690 style
, which gives me the expected [1-3]. Can you confirm you have this style selected in your document preferences?

Is it in an existing document? Do you get the expected output in an new document?

Yes, it is the same in an existing document. I also opened a new document and selected the same citation style there. It remains the same.

The DIN style still has some weirdness, so at least with two items you'd definitely get [1],[2].
You can try Vancouver brackets or the ACM SIG style (
https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:acm-sig-proceedings-long-author-list&dependent=0
) to see one that consistently keeps numbers within a single set of brackets.
