DOI column in Zotero

Hi,
I would like to display the DOI in the reference list in the central panel of Zotero to make it easier to compare duplicates in the deduplicating process of a systematic review.
Is there a way to display this metadata?

Thanks in advance for any input you could provide me with.
  • Are you aware of the Duplicate Items view? https://www.zotero.org/support/duplicate_detection

Matching on DOI is the first duplicate detection step in the view
  • Thanks for your reply, @bwiernik.
Yes, I am. The DOI column can be useful at different stages of the deduplicating process of a systematic review. (This includes seeing one reference having the DOI and the second not.) Some platforms provide us with metadata so crappy that they are not detected by Zotero.

Is the duplicate detection process documentated somewhere ?
Maybe that could help me find a workaround the lack of DOI column.
  • Take a look at the link above. It describes the de-duplication sequence
  • Also look at the zoplicate add-on which can automate deduplication (though with the caveat that there might be false positives)
  • @bwiernik Thanks. I already read the de-deduplication sequence described in the documentation. It's too general for me to really figure out how it works.

@adamsmith I didn't take the time to test zoplicate. I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the reminder.

For the DOI column, is there any plan to provide us with the possibility to display like the other fields?
  • +1 for the DOI column. This would make it possible to quickly identify items such as meeting abstracts with different titles but the same DOI. It would also allow a deduplication process based on DOI and title only.
