Chrome Extension Error on Books

Today I have been putting a lot of sources into my Zotero for a bibliography, and I put about 40 in. Then it just started erroring on books:

On Amazon, I am getting this error: "An error occurred saving with Amazon. Attempting to save using Save as Webpage instead."

On Worldcat, I am getting a similar error: "An error occurred saving with Open WorldCat. Attempting to save using Embedded Metadata instead."

Yet, it is still working when saving journal articles like from Ebsco and ProQuest.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Chrome extension which did not fix the problem. What else should I try?

  • See Troubleshooting Issues with Zotero Translators and provide relevant troubleshooting information.
  • Okay, well the first nine I had already done.

#10 is not relevant because on Amazon and Worldcat, the button shows the correct translator.

#11 has not changed and would not abruptly after putting in 40 sources.

#12 is not relevant because I did resintall the extension.

    #13 does not change anything.

So we are at #14. Here are a few exact URLs but it is any Amazon and Worldcat page for me:
    https://www.amazon.com/Faith-Once-Delivered-Westminster-Assembly/dp/1596380209/ref=sr_1_1
    https://search.worldcat.org/title/166624962
    There is no debug ID
And the errors are already copied above, and the name of the translators are in those.

So I hope that helps. Not sure what other information I can get you, but let me know what other specific information you need.
  • You can always submit a debug ID, reread the instructions for that. (The amazon page works for me, didn't test Worldcat).
It could just be some sort of rate limiting/bot detection . I'd use regular library catalogs for books whenever possible

  • This was a bug introduced yesterday in Zotero Connector 5.0.149. We've just pushed 5.0.150 with a fix — if you update to that and reload, this should be fixed. Thanks for letting us know.
  • Excellent. That did it. Thank you!
