> Right-click on the Attachment header → Hide Attachment Preview
Has this been removed? I'm using Zotero 7.0.9 on my Mac and I'm encountering the same difficulty -- I'm needing to view the attachment names but the Preview is taking up all the space and forcing me to scroll on every item.
And when I right-click on the header, I only see "Collapse Other Sections", "Expand All Sections", and "Pin Section". I am right-clicking in various spots and can't find "Hide Attachment Preview" anywhere at all:
Has this option been moved? Removed? I'm going through all my duplicate citations and seeing the filename is really important so that I can then remove the PDF's from my synced folder as well.
I also found the advanced config option "extensions.zotero.showAttachmentPreview" which I tried toggling to False, but unfortunately it's still showing the preview, even after restarting. I don't mind if it's a hidden config option, but if setting it to False doesn't work, is that a bug that needs fixing? Or is it referring to attachment previews in some other part of the UI?
"Hide Attachment Preview" is an option in the Attachments sections for the parent item. Previews are always shown when you click on the attachment item itself and have the Attachment Info section expanded.
Is this in stacked mode? Otherwise I wouldn't think you'd need to scroll down to view the title/filename unless you're on a very small screen or have made your window very small.
That didn't even occur to me because when going through duplicates, there is no such normal "parent" view, because pairs of items are being highlighted at once.
And you guessed right -- on a laptop screen so using stacked mode (otherwise the main list area can't show enough of the columns).
I realize this isn't going to be a high-priority thing. But I would suggest four possibilities that would make it better, at least for my use cases:
1) Have "Hide Attachment Preview" affect the attachment item as well, not just the parent (I personally never have any desire to see the cover image, so would be happy to disable it globally)
2) Have separate "Attachment Info" and "Attachment Preview" collapsible sections, so I could just keep "Attachment Preview" collapsed but still see the important "Attachment Info" like filename and last-modified
3) Have an option to make the previews tiny thumbnails, almost icon-sized and maybe left-aligned, if the goal is simply to be able to quickly see if two PDF's are the same or different (e.g. one "duplicate" of mine is a paper and a book with the same title by the same author, so in that case the cover would differentiate but it can be tiny)
4) Move the preview below the attachment info fields (title, filename, modified, indexed) so that in stacked view, you can see the items without scrolling

Thanks for replying! Hope this is helpful.
