"Insert link" button has no response in the note editor

In the note editor pane, "insert link" button has no response, but the link could be inserted by pasting from the clipboard, is it a bug? Also the "insert citation" button in the note editor has no "classic view", is it normal? The zotero version is 6.0.5, overwriting upgaded from 6.0.4. Reprot ID is 1953284906.

    Restart Zotero and try again.

If it still doesn't work, does it work in a new note?

There's no classic citation dialog in the note editor, correct. (You can always open the note in a separate window and just drag in an item from the main window.)
  • Thanks for your reply and suggestions!!!
  • I have the same problem. This looks like a bug to me.
  • @kswenson: You have to select text before clicking the button.
  • Yikes! That's counter-intuitive. Thanks for the help!

Do you know what the syntax is to link to a file on my local filesystem?
  • Yeah... thank you @mjthoraval. I found that link previously, but can't find the trick in Linux. I've tried `file:///path/to/file` with any number of leading slashes after "file:" without luck.
  • The file:// links are working from Libre Office.
So I guess it is a problem in Zotero on Linux?
