Zotero 7 Smart Reference Popup shows an entire page instead of single entry

Instead of seeing a single entry, this entire page of references with a weird red circle shows up.

This is expected behavior. Some PDFs already have internal links on in-text citations that point to references. If the Zotero reader can match the specific reference, it displays it in a popup. Otherwise, it defaults to previewing the internal link. The red dot represents the original internal link target set by the PDF creator.

Thanks for the quick reply. After opening a couple more pdfs I started seeing single-entry popups, too. Quite honestly, this is inconvenient, as the full-page popup is not really useful, yet seems quite frequent.

Besides, are you aware of any plans to mimic the implementation of the Google Scholar PDF Reader, where you have more fine-grained information, e.g. citation count?
