Manual Update Data Directory Settings

When a user manually installs the most recent Zotero update, are the Data Directory Location settings retained even if a custom location was specified? Does the path need to be re-specified in order for old libraries to transfer over?

If you just install the most recent version over an existing version, it acts like an update: all changes persist
