Error at Zotero 7 launch

Hello
I use zotero 6 without problem
I tried to install zotero 7.0.9 as an update (and also as a standalone version)
When I launch Zotero 7 I have the following message that appears "The procedure entry point curl_mime_data was not found in the dynamic link library" with the mergedlo.dll file from libreoffice (Version: 24.8.2.1 (X86_64)).
The message appears 2 times successively and then it does not seem to come back until the next startup.
Why this error and how to fix it?
Thank you for your help
  • Can you provide a screenshot?
  • That's a problem with your LibreOffice installation, not Zotero — Zotero is just running a LibreOffice command (unopkg) to try to install the plugin.

You should try reinstalling LO. If that doesn't help, install the plugin manually.
  • Hello
I just completely uninstall Libreoffice and restarted.
After that, when I launch Zotero 7, I have no error message.
Then i reinstalled libreoffice (24.8.2.1 x64) latest stable version found
When I launch zotero 7.0.9 x64 I have the same error message that comes back.
My machine runs Windows 10 pro x64 up to date
Version 6.0.36 x32 works without error
  • There's some sort of issue with your LibreOffice installation or configuration. Resetting your LibreOffice profile might help https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
  • Hello,
I completely uninstalled Libreoffice, removed what was left in the user profiles (Appdata).
When reinstalling a new profile was created from scratch.
Without any installation of Libroffice present, Zotero launches without error.
As soon as Libroffice is installed, the error message appears. Whether the zotero extension for Libreoffice was installed or not.
  • Yes, because when LibreOffice is installed, Zotero uses a LibreOffice command to try to install the extension. If there's a problem with your LibreOffice installation, you'll get this error.

It's possible to have Zotero skip automatic installation — search for "openoffice" in the Config Editor in the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings and set extensions.zoteroOpenOfficeIntegration.skipInstallation to true — but that will cause automatic updates to be skipped, so you might run into periodic problems that will require manual re-installations of the extension in LibreOffice.
  • I made the change in the Zotero settings (skipinstallation) and since then no more error message when launching the application.
I will do some tests to make sure everything works correctly but all seems to be OK for me.

Thank you very much for your help
  • Again, though, if you disable automatic installations, the LibreOffice integration will break at some point in the future. So you'll need to either fix it or be prepared to do a manual installation when the plugin is updated.
