Installer seems to take forever

    I updated and it looked good. Then it said I should use the 64 version, which I am installing since 2 hours. It seems to take forever. Does it convert files and folders? So far the installation dialogue shows 644000 files and 52963 folders...

    @dennisdd: That's not normal. You should restart it.

    The installer has no connection to your Zotero data.

    That's really weird. Currently I cannot even hit cancel, it's greyed out. I installed it into the Zotero folder where I also have my Zotero folder and everything. Let's see, if it is done after the 1,2 million files that are inthere ;-)

    Wait, do you mean that you're installing it to a custom location where you also have your Zotero data? That's an extraordinarily bad thing to do and may cause you to lose all your data. Program files shouldn't ever have anything to do with data files. You should force-quit that immediately and install it in the default location in C:\Program Files\Zotero.

    Okay, thank you for the hint @dstillman. I always used to have it like that, so I did the same. However, I took your advice and it installed like a charm, nothing seems lost. Thank you for the help!!
