Missing add Notes Tab

Thank you for amazing software. It looks really slick and appreciate all the features.
However, this probably me but on Linux version of Zotero, I can't see to find the add note to a title missing. The option to add notes to an item is also not clickable.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. I have attached the screenshots.

I'm not sure what option you're referring to. In the first screenshot, you have a note selected, so New Standalone Note is the only available option. If you want to add another child note, you have to click on the parent item and then click Add Item Note.

Thanks. Appreciate your response. Took me a while to understand that notes can be only added to parents and not to the associated pdf.
