Delete full-library
In a reconfiguration of my computer and the need for a reinstallation of the Zotero software, I had to resynchronize my library. Due to an error or a misunderstanding of the step I needed to follow, it seems I have deleted my entire library (!). I am very confused because in case it is so, it seems that deleting a library is very easy. Therefore, is there no backup file I can recover? Do I have to re-enter everything?
1) You manually deleted all data in the library and emptied the trash.
2) You had an empty local library and for some reason used Replace Online Library from the Sync settings.
I don't know what "step" you're referring to. If you were using syncing previously, setting up Zotero on a new computer just entails putting in your username and password in the Sync settings and clicking Set Up Syncing.
In any case, if you just did this, you might be able to restore from one of the automatic backups in your Zotero data directory.
The only possible answer is 2). Because trash is also empty and, of course, I could have been noticing this process. But there is also a very weird point. In my personal account, thre is a shared folder that got syncronized and contain the previous content. Why, then, I could replace a library when this library already existed and could be synced while my personal library, not?
The problem is that I cannot restore my PC backup because I updated the whole system, therefore all previous data has been deleted.
Is there a backup file from Zotero cloud of one day ago? Is it possible that the new Zotero version would generate sync problems?
We're not able to restore data that's been deleted from our servers, sorry.
