Duplicate reference list

My students are using Zotero and are getting duplicate reference lists every time they add a reference on google docs using both the Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. This is resulting in 50+ pages of the same reference lists. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    I'm having this issue. My paper is currently ~40 pages. Earlier today, after refreshing the reference list, my references were duplicated so I had 191 pages. I manually deleted all of them. After searching through the forums, it was suggested to close all the apps. I did that and restarted my computer. My paper is now 341 pages long, with 300+ pages of duplicated references.

    Set up:
    macbook air 2024
    google chrome (Version 134.0.6998.118)
    google docs
    zotero (I just updated to version 7)

    Delete the bibliography completely, restart Zotero, and click Refresh to make sure the bibliography is fully gone. Then reinsert it.
