Repot Number D2051890956 - XML Parse Error

Repot Number D2051890956

Each time I change style of the referencing in any document the error window is seen for a little time with the information "XML Error". Report is attached

It seems, this do not affect the processing.

There are some errors of style loadings in the Report, however, I do not see any alerts regarding them

Sincerely yours,
Andrey

  • I have the same message, but I have not tried yet to edit my bibliography. I hope that there will be no problem
  • just installed zotero for the first time, and whenever i do anything in a word document, the same error pops up for a split second. Also completly reinstalled it, but nothing. Noteworthy might be, that i dont have chrome installed on my PC, only Firefox and Edge.
  • I have the same (hard to catch) message, everything seems to be working fine, I can add citations and edit the bibliography without any issues
  • @dr_avk @veroB69 @SunKatana @AMeganGee do you still see this consistently? If so, is there anything special about your Windows setup that you can think of?
  • ("Special" here could mean…a non-English locale, something unusual about how Zotero is installed, the Zotero program files being in a non-standard location, being on an outdated version of Windows…)
  • It was intermittent but I have just moved to Win11 and have not seen it since. Otherwise, it was a standard windows set up, can't think of anything that might have been different to what my colleagues use and, only I, ever got the popup.
  • I am having this issue on linux with Zotero 7.0.9 It seem to happen when calls are made to external services for bibliographic information such as for getting doi based metadata.

  • same here. The error message pops up briefly when I insert a citation into a Word document. But despite the "error" message, everything seems to work just fine.
I am pretty sure I see this error today for the first time - last time I inserted citations into a Word document was maybe 2-3 weeks ago.
I´m on Win10 and did not change anything recently (at least not on purpose).

EDIT: I just updated Zotero from 7.0.1 to 7.0.9 and that did resolve the issue.
  • 我使用的beta版本7.0.10,仍然出现了此问题。
  • Happened to me today. Nothing unusual about the set up. Saved a new article, started working a new docx, error flashing each time I add citation. Restarting Zotero fixed the issue
  • The same problem reappeared today, just after the new update to Zotero 7.0.16. There must be a bug. It would be good to resolve it, as it is quite annoying, although it seems harmless.
  • OK. I just had to reinstall the Chrome connector, and the problem was solved. Perhaps then you need to reinstall the connector after an update.
  • @alebis57: It has nothing to do with the Connector. It's just a random harmless glitch in 7.0 that we've never been able to reproduce but that happens for some people. It doesn't happen in the Zotero 7.1 beta.
