add link to file... vs. attach link to file...

When I click on the drop down menu that has the icon shown in the attached file in the latest version of Zotero (v7.0.6), I see choices for both add link to file... and attach link to file.... What is the difference between the two?

    The distinction is in "Add" versus "Attach". You notice that "Attach" is only undimmed when you select an existing item ... to which you can attach a file or a link to a file. "Add" is for adding *new* standalone elements.

    It looks as if the "Add" options are those which used to be under the green + icon in v6: "Link to File" (now "Add Link to File") and "Store Copy of File" (now "Add File"); which are now re-named and moved to a different drop-down under v7.

    Hopefully the above documentation will be updated for v7 soon, as those nuances may be lost on many people.
