iOS PDF issue after switching to WebDAV

Hello all,

I have been using Zotero for a few years and have historically used Zotfile to manage attachments. I upgraded to Zotero 7 today and have purchased an iPad with the primary intention of using it to read articles.

I decided to make the switch to syncing to WebDAV (via Koofr) and am having an issue with seeing PDFs on my iPad and iPhone. I have verified connection in both locations and performed the "Reset File Sync History". Some articles work well and it appears to work fine after adding some new papers. However, some documents that I have been actively working with recently will not open on iOS. They will direct me to the web link for the paper instead.

Can someone assist in directing me in next steps or what I am doing wrong? Any advice is appreciated!
  • As a follow up, I have added more articles today and they are working fine. Seems to only be things that were previously updated and that I have interacted with recently (linked files via Zotfile). Older articles are able to be downloaded on iOS in the Zotero app.
  • Linked files aren't available in the iOS app.
  • And to add to dstillman's comment:

"If you wish to convert linked files to stored files in order to allow Zotero to manage them, you can do so from the Tools → Manage Attachments menu."
