Impossible to insert a citation in the Zotero update 7.0.7

It’s impossible to insert a citation in the Zotero update.

When the dialog box appears and you search for the reference, clicking to insert causes the dialog box to turn red.

Honestly, working with Zotero in large files becomes unbearable.

    What OS and word processor is this? How large is the document, and how long are you waiting?

    In a large file, make sure you have "Automatically update citations" disabled in the plugin's Document Preferences.

    I have a document of nearly 800 pages, using Mac OS Sequoia 15.0.1.

    I have automatic updates disabled, and when I try to insert a citation, the dialog box stays red indefinitely. I have to restart Zotero to get it working again.

    Right, so you're likely just not waiting long enough. Mac Word integration is unfortunately currently very slow, so in a document of that size, it could easily take a while to update the document. There's nothing new in 7.0.7 here — this has been the case for years.

    We're working with Microsoft to speed this up.

    (You can open Help → Debug Output Logging → View Output before triggering this to see that there's activity while you're waiting.)

    Well, if nothing has been changed in the update regarding that, it seems that what used to work somewhat before now doesn’t work at all.
